DRUM NEWSLETTER

January 2010 Edition

The beginning of 2010 has brought a renewed sense of hope and optimism that the worst of the economic recession is over and that the recovery process has begun. The turmoil catalyzed by big investment bank bonuses and recent mergers has started to settle down. Firms are overcoming their recent frustrations and looking ahead in a positive light, tackling the issues presented to them over the last 18 months. Financial services firms will begin replacing positions that were downsized or left vacant due to natural attrition. Candidates will start seeing more job openings posted on job boards as well as more movement in the interviewing and hiring processes. These positive signs of economic recovery will instill a sense of optimism in job seekers that will become contagious, having an astonishing impact on the overall mindset of companies and the American public. For job seekers, now is an opportune time to get in front of potential employers. Social networking sites, career boards and targeted networking events are great first steps to making the right connections. Best of luck to everyone in job market and wishing everyone a prosperous 2010!!
